JOB DESCRIPTION:
Housing for Health (HFH) is a program office within the Health Services Administration, a division under the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). HFH supports the Los Angeles County Homeless Initiative recommendations that support the County’s effort to address and combat homelessness in the communities within Los Angeles County.
The CalAIM analyst will support the work of the cross functional teams working on the California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) project. CalAIM is a far-reaching, 5-year plan to transform California’s Medi-Cal program and to make it integrate more seamlessly with other social services. Homeless services are a particular area of focus. Led by California’s Department of Health Care Services, the goal of CalAIM is to improve outcomes for the millions of Californians covered by Medi-Cal, especially those with the most complex needs.
Ideal candidates will be organized, have basic knowledge of mainstream services for people experiencing homelessness, and be flexible to meet the changing needs and demands of the program.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides and enhances collaboration and coordination between all of the various entities connected to the CalAIM effort.
Recommends, develops, and implements workflow modifications.
Assists in the collection and analysis of data specific to service delivery and tracking
Provides updates to stakeholders that include internal program staff, participating departments, participating departments, partner agencies, contracted service providers, and other groups.
Supports in the development of tools that aid in the performance of essential function (I.e., monitoring tools, surveys for providers, forms for referral partners, etc.),
Conducts meetings and conference calls with relevant CalAIM stakeholders
Monitors deliverables from all partners and identifies potential data collection roadblocks and solutions.
Supports the Incentive Payment Program and other CalAIM programs.
Supports implementation of Community Supports, both current and future.
Coordinates with various teams within Housing for Health and Community Programs, including policy & planning and training, to help address gaps in CalAIM implementation.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Social Work, Community Development, Criminal Justice or a related field.
OR
One (1) year analyzing and making recommendations that address organizational management issues such as planning, program development, project management, budget development, and program evaluation of health and human services for high-risk populations (e.g., homeless, justice-involved, mentally ill, substance use disorder or medically complex).
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
Successful clearing through the Live Scan process with the County of Los Angeles.
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Proficient skill set in using an array of Microsoft Office Suite software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Reader, One Note, Outlook, Publisher, Skype, Outlook, etc.
Knowledge of Medi-Cal policy.
Able to multi-task and set workload priorities for time sensitive projects/tasks.
Ability to problem solve and make recommendations to processes, policies, etc.
Able to communicate with all levels of personnel, e.g., written, verbal, in a professional and concise/clear manner; ability to work within a project team and/or independently.
Able to work in a very diverse environment and with diverse individuals.
Ability to be flexible in meeting changing work tasks and timelines; must be dependable and reliable.
