Lauren Quijano-Gin

Development and Communications Manager | Hope, Inc.

“Even in the housing stipulations of some of the homes dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, Filipinos have been barred from accessing housing unless they are domestic workers to the predominantly White families of historical neighborhoods in Long Beach. I never forget this fact and it drives me to want to achieve equity for my community, my family, and myself.”

Lauren Quijano-Gin is a health advocate and storyteller who joined the affordable housing sector to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by creating stable, healthy housing options across LA County. As the Development and Communications Manager for HOPE, Inc., Lauren is responsible for crafting compelling communications, strategic planning, and managing housing development, grants, fundraising, and events.

Lauren brings extensive experience working with nonprofits and city agencies in public health and housing, community organizing, program management, policy development, and public affairs. Described as a boost of energy who builds lasting partnerships within the community, Lauren's life journey involves making exciting plans, sharing inspirational stories, and overcoming challenges with others in joy and fun. She is particularly interested in housing equity, migrant justice, health justice, and workers' rights.
