Opportunities for Success

Phillip “Rock” Lester (he/him)

Opportunities for Success (OFS) is focused on addressing the negative impacts of youth justice and restitution on young people and families in underserved communities.

Phillip "Rock" Lester is a community activist from South Central Los Angeles. He currently serves as a chapter coordinator with TimeDone, where he advocates for smart justice and system change. Rock is also a board member of the Watts Neighborhood Council.

As a system-impacted individual and a survivor of crime, Rock is passionate about advocating for systems change and resources that lead to stable communities and real public safety. His personal experiences have fueled his commitment to improving outcomes for those affected by the justice system.

In his role at TimeDone, Rock works to promote reforms that support successful reintegration and community wellbeing. Rock's work bridges the gap between policy advocacy and grassroots community action, leveraging his firsthand knowledge to drive meaningful change in the justice system.
