Program Director | Valley Oasis

“Some factors that I see structurally and systemically for people of color are lack of housing for low-income families, housing affordability, job readiness, and vocational job training to increase household income and sustain housing.”

Sheri Gorman is the CES Adults Program Director overseeing direct homeless services for adults 18+ with the Valley Oasis. Sheri believes in beds not tents and that housing is a fundamental right everyone should be afforded. In addition to overseeing direct homeless services, Sheri also oversees multiple homeless prevention programs of which one program is specifically geared toward preventing seniors 65+ or independent individuals with physical or mental impairment from becoming homeless.

Before Valley Oasis, Sheri worked with Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) assisting the people experiencing homelessness and low-income Angelenos obtain employment.

Sheri has dedicated herself to helping others for the past 10+ years and wants to accomplish much more as she learns and grows.
