“Far too long, the government has separated children and families in the guise of care. Communities of color are being harmed by antiquated systems that conflate negligence with poverty. Our initiative works to keep families together, support youth, and abolish the child regulation system.”

"My ten siblings and I were placed in foster care when I was an infant. Like me, children of color are taken from their families at alarming rates. The “child welfare” system did not prepare me for success. Hence, my twin and I created Twinspire to provide training and advocacy opportunities to foster youth in LA County to reimagine what “child welfare” means to them and communities of color."

Twinspire aims to abolish the family regulation system for foster youth who are deprived of equal opportunities to succeed in school, career, and life through policy advocacy and programming.
