Bound Together: The Call for a Ceasefire

SJPLA continues to stand in solidarity with the call for an immediate, permanent ceasefire. We signed on to Funders for a Ceasefire Now, in our commitment to use our voice in service of the liberation and wellbeing of all people.

We are heartbroken by the tens of thousands of lives violently cut short and by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Stopping the violence and providing aid are critical, immediate steps towards our healing and a more just future.

Supporting freedom for the people of Palestine reflects the core of our anti-racist work. This advocacy is an integral part of our broader pursuit for racial justice, challenging systems of oppression that affect marginalized communities worldwide.

Our liberation is bound together.

The devastation in Gaza stands as a stark reminder of the urgent need to confront and dismantle all structures that perpetuate violence and oppression. As we stand with the Palestinian people, we recognize the interconnectedness of our struggles and how movements for justice around the world are intertwined with our work here in Los Angeles. Every act of solidarity is part of a global tapestry of resistance and a step toward collective liberation.

We’re dedicated to the wellbeing of all communities impacted by this crisis. In our ongoing efforts to provide support and healing to our community, we invite you to meditate with Centering with Loving Kindness, led by SJPLA’s Alli Simon, designed to help us navigate the emotional and mental toll of witnessing such violence.

As we continue our work towards a future where our collective liberation is a reality, we invite our community to join us in solidarity to call for a ceasefire. It is through collective action that we forge paths to lasting peace and justice.
