Community Groundwork
Community Groundwork ensures that community college students are prepared for civic duty in their personal and professional lives.
If you are an 18-year-old student in Los Angeles County, you might be 1 of an estimated 600,000 community college students. While you may love your neighborhood and want to advocate for it, you may have a limited understanding, little preparation, and minimal access to do so. Even though you are bright and excited to affect change, you are often overlooked. In contrast, your 4-year university counterparts are constantly recruited to work on political campaigns.
Through a 20 hour workshop and mentor, Community Groundwork will ensure that community college students are prepared for civic duty in their personal and professional lives.
