Darneicea Day

Director | Center for Employment Opportunities

“By incorporating a racial equity and justice lens into homeless response strategies, it is possible to develop more effective and culturally responsive interventions that are tailored to the unique needs and experiences of individuals and communities of color.”

Darneicea is currently the Director at the Center for Employment Opportunities. At the forefront of her mission is the stabilization of justice-impacted individuals. She achieves this by fostering economic stability and proactively addressing barriers, notably housing, which could potentially elevate recidivism rates. Drawing upon over five years of experience in addressing housing insecurity, Darneicea is deeply committed to reforming service models that perpetuate stigmas against marginalized groups.

With an MBA under her belt, Darneicea is currently working towards a Doctoral degree in Human Services, specializing in Organizational Leadership. Her scholarly pursuits are centered around uncovering and understanding the disparities and biases that affect justice-involved women. Through her research, she aims to illuminate the often-overlooked stigmas that these women face, particularly at the executive tier of the professional arena.
