Nancy Martinez

Manager, Workforce Development | United Way of Greater Los Angeles

“The solution to homelessness is understanding the constructs that created homelessness and understanding why it is impacting some groups more than others. Race, geography, and social climate among other key constructs help name the issue that can create the solution.”

Nancy, born and raised in Watts, has consistently leveraged her skills and knowledge to enhance accessibility and opportunities within her community. Currently, she serves as the Community Engagement Manager at Chrysalis, where she uses her deep understanding of homelessness, criminal justice, and workforce systems to advocate for underserved communities. Nancy's work involves connecting various areas of social services to provide support for residents throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.

Her Mexican heritage and Los Angeles upbringing fuel her passion for advocacy and her mission to create equitable opportunities for the most underserved populations. Nancy aspires to bring more local leaders to the table for decision-making and change.
