Contracts and Monitoring Manager | Los Angeles County Department of Health Services

“Like many of our community, I grew up in public housing, a recipient of welfare benefits, and often subject to circumstances within my environment (gangs, violence, poverty, and drugs) and often stereotyped for being a ‘product of the ghetto.’ I have been intentionally overlooked in many places, especially the workplace, despite what I bring to the table.

Following in the legacy of her late mother, community activist and change agent Beverly Williams, Renee Williams has devoted her life’s work to the field of human and social services. Renee is a quite yet passionate trendsetter who dedicates her time cultivating next-generation leaders. She is the Contracts and Monitoring Manager with Housing For Health, a division of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, housed in the heart of Skid Row.

She has over 15 years of professional experience in administration, leadership, contract management, program planning, coordination, and finance/budgets and serves faithfully in her church ministry.

She is the first of her immediate family to pursue post-secondary education, holding a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Biola University (’11) and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management (’08).

Renee is a Watts native, an astute businesswoman and entrepreneur, humanitarian, philanthropist, leader, and proud single mother to Tarah.
