Rene’ Williams is from the Colville Tribes - Okanogan and Lakes Bands. She is the Vice President of Operations for the United American Indian Involvement, the largest human and health service provider for American Indian and Alaskan Natives (AI/AN) in Los Angeles County. She is also a LANAIC Commissioner appointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn. She was born and raised on her reservation but has lived over half of her life in urban areas and now resides in Downtown LA. Rene’ is committed to working toward health equity to address health disparities and the social determinants of health for Native American people. During her 30 years of service in leadership positions with Tribal Nations and nonprofits throughout the United States, she has developed and implemented numerous health, educational, workforce, and youth programs, including the first Native American housing in LA, two regional tribally designed TANF programs along with many HHS, DOL, DOI, and DOE projects. She strives to make a difference by guiding and encouraging AI/AN to establish a self-sustaining way of life.
