Healing Justice and Community Care in the Workplace
Learn practices to sustain yourself in the workplace.
In work environments, maintaining our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing is often overlooked, particularly in sectors that grapple with acute social challenges. Our Healing Justice and Community Care in the Workplace course is designed to remedy this crucial gap. This training series will equip your teams with strategies to cultivate resilience and ensure personal wellbeing, while continuing to serve the community compassionately and effectively.
Course Description
The Healing Justice and Community Care in the Workplace course is a five-part series that runs for 90 minutes per session, led by SJPLA’s Healing Justice & Wellbeing Manager, Alli Simon, and a roster of guest speakers.
Through engaging discussions, innovative practices, and inspiring guest insights, participants will establish practices that promote personal care while being of service to our greater community. This course tackles the often-ignored mental, physical, and emotional tolls of work, particularly among BIPOC workers, by providing techniques to manage stress, foster resilience, and prevent burnout.
Our program delves into a variety of community care strategies, including the healing justice framework, embodied mindfulness, council circle, and many more. These strategies have proven instrumental for individuals working in high-stress environments like the homeless response sector, but they are also valuable tools for any workplace aiming to foster a nurturing environment.
The course is typically delivered in five 90-minute trainings for around $10,000 but is customized for each group’s needs.
