Paul is best known as a communications and public affairs strategist. Paul has over 25 years of experience working to engage and influence a range of audiences on key issues such as juvenile & criminal justice, racial equity, homelessness and health care.
From strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, campaign management to message development, Paul is a trusted and sought-after senior advisor to the most prominent and well-respected foundations and nonprofits in the country. He has led multi-million dollar campaigns for several County of Los Angeles departments to promote the census; to encourage people to get tested and immunized during the pandemic; and to educate residents on how to vote safely during the past three elections. Other past and present clients include the California Community Foundation, Conrad Hilton Foundation, Strategic Concepts in Organizing and Policy Education (SCOPE), The California Endowment, The Advancement Project, and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.
He is currently working on projects to stop discrimination and false narratives against the nation’s Asian and Pacific American community during the pandemic (Stop AAPI Hate); to bridge the racial wealth gap hurting Black and Brown residents in the Bay Area (Silicon Valley Community Foundation); and to transform the mental health system (State of California Health & Human Services Agency).
Prior to joining Fenton, Paul spent more than eight years with The California Endowment, where he led efforts to build alliances and generate support for the foundation’s health priorities. He is also a veteran of local government, having served as a legislative deputy to former Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina. A native Angeleno, Paul has intimate knowledge of and experience with Los Angeles politics, public affairs and policy issues.
