We are seeking a full-time Senior Communications Lead to lead the strategy and execution of all of SJPLA’s external communications, bringing to life our mission, values, and programs to a variety of audiences, including nonprofit leaders, donor volunteers, and civically-engaged Angelenos.

Over these last few weeks, we've witnessed the profound strength and solidarity of Los Angeles as we face the devastating impact of the fires and the destructive actions of a new Administration. The outpouring of mutual aid and solidarity highlights just how much we show up for each other in times of need. This spirit of community care becomes even more crucial as we navigate the immediate crises and the broader attacks on our communities.

How do we ensure that while enjoying the freedom of a liberatory environment, we still honor our commitments to each other and our communities?

As part of our commitment to a liberatory workplace and being a living lab for liberatory practices and policies, we quietly moved to a 32-hour work week in January of 2023. A year and a half into the experiment, we’re ready to share how we made the transition and what we’ve learned from the process.

We are seeking a full-time Events Coordinator to work closely with our Senior Manager of Communications to support our whole team to coordinate events, meetings, and trainings.

One year ago, we launched The Wellbeing Fund to provide financial support to Los Angeles homeless response sector workers and move towards a living wage throughout the sector.
