Wellbeing Series: Healing Trauma with Yogic Principles with Tejal Patel

Join Tejal for an introduction of Secondary Trauma & Race and Ethnic-Based Stress and Trauma, and the utilization of yoga and meditation for healing and harm-reduction.

Tejal Patel (she/they) is a first-generation Indian American yoga teacher, writer, podcaster, and community organizer.

Tejal’s aim is to educate and empower individuals and groups around the world to practice yoga holistically and through a social justice equity lens.

Tejal can be found decolonizing wellness with the revolutionary Tejal Yoga Online, a primarily South Asian teacher-led yoga space, with the abcdyogi interactive community, an online hub for healing and learning, and through the Yoga is Dead podcast, e-book, and signature cultural appropriation training.

SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every second Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
