House LA Teach-In with Act-LA

SJPLA alum ACT-LA is seeking volunteers to gather signatures for a monumental ballot measure to create the largest long term affordable housing fund in Los Angeles history!

Join us for this special teach-in to learn from Laura Raymond and Marissa Ayala about the House LA ballot initiative and how you can get involved in this historic effort.

There will then be a chance for Q&A to ask any questions about the measure itself and the ongoing coalition efforts to gather the necessary 65,000 signatures.

About House LA

The United to House LA coalition is working to get a ballot measure qualified for the November election that would generate over $800 million annually for affordable housing and tenant protection policies in the City of Los Angeles. The measure was written by homelessness and housing advocates and experts as well as labor organizations, and focuses on homeless individuals, and those most at risk of becoming homeless. The initiative includes the following core components:

  1. Protection of existing affordable housing

  2. Creation of new affordable housing

  3. Supportive services for low-income renters

Let’s ensure all Angelenos can thrive with a safe, stable, affordable place to call home. By asking millionaires and billionaires to contribute their fair share. Every person in Los Angeles will benefit from the healthier, safer, more vibrant communities built through this ballot initiative.
