The End: A New Beginning
A pandemic, divided politics, and a climate that's rapidly changing--the news these days can have you thinking you're in an apocalyptic movie. Fear not, though: The end is always a place of new beginnings. We'll talk about all we can learn from stories about the end and find ways we can make our current apocalypse a place for hope, imagination, and change.
Susan X Jane is a diversity educator, speaker, and trainer. A former professor and youth worker, she now consults with organizations looking to make sense of our current cultural shift. She thinks a lot about media and race…a lot, and writes and speaks about media…and race... and generally encourages everyone she meets to think about the way our identity shapes our experiences, ideas, and beliefs about the world.
SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every third Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities to anyone working to end homelessness in Los Angeles, as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
