Wellbeing Series: Recharge & Restore:Wellness Practices for Frontline Resilience

This 50-minute wellness workshop is designed to give back to those who offer so much of themselves. Participants will be offered practical tools to recharge and restore balance, including a blend of gentle chair yoga, stretching, breathwork, and meditation. The movement practice will be accessible for all fitness levels, to release physical tension. The session will also include guided breathwork to calm the nervous system and a mindfulness meditation to cultivate mental clarity. Alongside the practices, we’ll explore the science behind their benefits and share simple strategies to integrate these techniques into a busy workday and maintain resilience and well-being while continuing the vital work of supporting the most vulnerable.

Dr Tara Zinnamon is a neuroscientist and yoga, breathwork, and meditation guide committed to moving her community towards wellness and expansion. Straddling two seemingly disparate approaches, she has found through her research, clinical and lived experiences that the human mind and body are capable of self-healing and immeasurable feats. Guiding the body, breath and mind, her intention is to encourage self-awareness, connection and resilience in practice and in life.

SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every second Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
