JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Homeless Initiative is the central coordinating body for Los Angeles County’s ongoing effort to expand and enhance services for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes. Created by the Board of Supervisors in August 2015, the Homeless Initiative is part of the County’s Chief Executive Office and primarily funded through Measure H, a 1/4-cent sales tax approved by nearly 70% County voters in May 2017, creating a revenue stream that began in July 2017.

The Hilton Fellow will report to CEO-HI Executive Director Cheri Todoroff. Specifically, the Fellow's efforts will be focused on supporting the team's strategic efforts led by Strategic Advisor Andrea Iloulian who will provide daily supervision. These efforts include but are not limited to the implementation of CEO-HI's New Framework, the enhancement of data driven decision making, homelessness and housing system-wide budget mapping, and communications. 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the strategic planning of complex housing and homelessness programs and services.

  • Support efforts related to the creation of an inventory of local, State, federal, private and other financing related to housing and homelessness.

  • Conduct policy analysis that tracks and assesses regulations and guidelines that impact the use and providing of housing and supportive services to PEH and those most at risk of homelessness.

  • Provide project management for efforts related to interim and permanent housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness.

  • Support HI's collaborative efforts with County departments, other governmental entities, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure coordination across organizations to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Humility

  • Experience in coalition building

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Understanding of homelessness, homeless services, and affordable housing

  • Experience in project management
