There can be no denying that we are entering a dark chapter in the revolution. How can we be here now and stay present and hopeful in the face of chaos and hate? We cannot control what emerges from those motivated by hate and greed but we can draw on the hard lessons we have learned in the last few years to stay connected, balance rest and revolution, and choose hope even in the dark.
For Susan X Jane--a black person adopted by a white family--crossing boundaries has always been an important part of her life. Understanding culture is a driving motivator in her work with education, nonprofits, and the private sector. Susan X Jane has 30 years of experience addressing racism and building culture as a community organizer, program developer, communications professor, and trainer for corporations and impact-focused institutions. As Principal of Navigators Consulting, she’s a teacher, coach, and strategic partner helping organizations create inclusive environments where the humanity of all is respected and protected.
SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every second Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
