Celebrating the 2021-22 Accelerator Cohort

The 2021-22 Systems Change Accelerator came to a close last week with an in-person lunch to celebrate these incredible leaders and the SJPLA community who supported their journey.⁠ Our fourth Accelerator cohort is creating a more just LA by:

• Advancing housing and transportation justice

• Ending child sexual abuse

• Abolishing racist carceral systems 

• Reimagining mental health practices

• Increasing civic engagement and leadership opportunities

• Amplifying Indigenous youth leadership in movements for justice

This cohort of ten started in October and spent the last nine months developing connections with each other and our SJP community, exploring liberatory workplace culture, and crafting a three-minute pitch for Fast Pitch. We were challenged with Covid risk creating an almost completely remote program year. We built trust and connection over zoom, and then finally with our first in-person opportunity in February as the cohort prepared for Fast Pitch.
